Privacy policy

Avant Group is a technology studio based in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. This page explains what data we collect from people who visit the site, what we use it for and what you can ask us about it.
The short version: we only collect what you send us yourself in order to talk to the team. We do not sell data, we do not use your data for advertising and there are no user accounts.
What we collect
- Booking details. When you book a call through the calendar on the site, you provide your name, email, time zone and whatever you choose to write in the message field. The booking is processed by Cal.com.
- WhatsApp conversations.If you click one of the WhatsApp buttons, the conversation happens on Meta's platform and we keep its history, including your number.
- Language preference. A cookie called
langstores the language you picked, so the site opens in it on your next visit. - Country of access. On your first visit, our server uses the country estimated from your IP address for one purpose only: deciding whether the site opens in Portuguese or in English. We do not store it.
- Site usage. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site, where they came from and which pages they read. It writes cookies in your browser (they start with
_ga) and works with aggregate numbers: we do not identify you by name, and Google does not hand us your IP address. - Technical logs. Our hosting keeps automatic access logs, with data such as IP address, browser and pages visited, used for security and diagnostics.
What we use it for
- Replying to you and carrying on the conversation you started.
- Preparing and holding meetings you booked.
- Understanding the context of your project in order to make a proposal.
- Keeping the site working, secure and in the right language.
The legal basis for processing this data is your consent in reaching out to us and our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or trade your data. It only passes through the services that keep the site and our support running:
- Cal.com, for scheduling calls.
- WhatsApp (Meta), when the contact happens there.
- Vercel, which hosts the site and keeps the access logs.
- Google Analytics, which measures site usage in aggregate.
- Sanity, which stores the blog texts and receives no visitor data.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy, and some of them operate outside Brazil. We may also share data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep contact data while the conversation is active and for up to two years afterwards, so we can pick up the history if you come back to us. Records required by law are kept for the legal period. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
Under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), you can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what data of yours we hold;
- correct incomplete or wrong data;
- give you a copy of your data;
- delete your data;
- withdraw your consent and end the contact.
We handle these requests within 15 days. To delete a WhatsApp conversation, just ask and we erase the history on our side.
Cookies
The site uses two kinds of cookie. The language one, called lang, stores your choice between Portuguese and English. The Google Analytics ones, which start with _ga, measure visits and pages read in aggregate. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell this data to advertisers.
You can delete both in your browser settings. To block the measurement alone, Google offers an opt-out add-on. None of this changes how the site works.
How to reach us
For any request about your data, talk to the team on WhatsApp. We are a small team and a person answers, not a form.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts collecting anything different, we update this page and the date at the top. The version published here is the one that applies.
